As of December 1, 2011, ILR has changed its ownership and name to Independent Gaming Research. IGR is now under the direction of Matthew Smith, President and Partner at Leo J. Shapiro & Associates. LJS is one of the oldest and most respected strategic research organizations in the U.S. Founded in the Fall of 2005 as Independent Lottery Research, IGR quickly became one of the leading voices in the lottery and gaming industry.

Along with Matthew Smith, directors Gary Kubo of Kubo Group LTD, who brings his vast marketing and advertising expertise to the venture, and Dr. Margaret Mueller, Research Director at LJS who brings a deep understanding in social science and research applications, bring together a breadth and depth of lottery and gaming specific marketing, advertising, and research experience that is unmatched in the industry.

Our major work is the development and application of techniques that get at how consumers act, think and feel about matters for which our clients need to make informed decisions. Our clients include upper management and C-level executives whose personal success is dependent upon their ability to turn information into action.
